How we handle your information
Advanced Therapeutic Massage, LLC respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is protected — both on this website and in the course of providing massage therapy.
Who we are
Advanced Therapeutic Massage, LLC is a licensed massage therapy practice owned and operated by Adam Temel, LMT, serving clients in their homes across Harford and Baltimore Counties, Maryland. You can reach us at 443-535-7160 or adamtemel32@yahoo.com.
Information you give us
Contact details. When you call, text, email, or submit a form on this site, we receive the information you provide — typically your name, phone number, email address, and the address where the session will take place.
Health and intake information. Before your first session we ask about your medical history, injuries, medications, areas of pain, and treatment goals. We need this to work safely and effectively. It is recorded and kept as part of your client file.
Session notes. After each appointment we may record what was worked on and how you responded, so that future sessions build on it.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this site records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you view, and the site or search that brought you here. This is used to understand how the site is being used and to keep it working.
We use website analytics and hosting services that process this data on our behalf. The site also uses cookies — small files stored by your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
How your information is used
To schedule, provide, and follow up on your massage therapy sessions.
To contact you about appointments, changes, or questions you have raised.
To keep accurate treatment records, as required of a licensed massage therapist in Maryland.
To send you occasional updates or offers, but only if you have asked to receive them. Every such message includes a way to unsubscribe.
Confidentiality of health information
Your health and treatment information is confidential. It is not shared with anyone — including family members, employers, or other practitioners — without your written consent, except where disclosure is required by law or necessary to prevent serious harm.
If you would like your treatment information shared with a physician, physical therapist, or other provider, tell us and we will ask you to sign a release first.
We do not bill insurance companies directly. If you submit receipts to your insurer for reimbursement, any information you share with them is governed by their policies, not ours.
Who else has access
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
A small number of service providers process data on our behalf in order for the practice to function: our website host, our email provider, our website analytics provider, and our scheduling and payment tools. Each receives only what it needs, and is expected to protect it.
We may disclose information if legally required to do so — for example in response to a subpoena, court order, or a lawful request from the Maryland Board of Massage Therapy Examiners.
How long we keep it
Client treatment records are retained for the period required of licensed massage therapists in Maryland, and then securely destroyed. Website analytics data is retained on a rolling basis by our analytics provider. Enquiries that do not become appointments are kept only as long as needed to respond.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You can withdraw consent to marketing at any time. You can decline to answer any intake question, though this may limit what we can safely do in a session.
To make any of these requests, call or text 443-535-7160 or email adamtemel32@yahoo.com.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them online. Massage therapy for a minor requires the consent and presence of a parent or legal guardian.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including limiting who can access records and securing the devices and accounts on which they are held. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes affecting how your information is used will be communicated directly where practical.
